Fourth death recorded
A fourth Covid-19 related death was registered on Friday evening.
The man, who also suffered from other medical conditions, was admitted at the Family Hospital isolation centre on January 23, 2021.
Meanwhile, 43 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded during the past two days ‒ Saturday and Sunday January 30 and 31.
The total number of cases recorded in Seychelles now stands at 1,205. The samples were taken on January 29, 30 and 31, 2021.
Of the new cases 32 are Seychellois, and 11 are GOP holders. They are all from Mahé.
On Saturday, 24 new cases were recorded and 19 were registered yesterday.
Eighty-seven (87) people ‒ 59 on Saturday and 28 on Sunday ‒ and among those 23 foreigners and 64 Seychellois have met the discharge criteria from the list of active cases and will be discharged into convalescence.
There are presently 186 active cases in Seychelles, while 1,015 patients have recovered.
Everyone is advised to keep interactions to immediate households (the persons you live with) only and to not gather in crowds. Continue to respect and practice the different measures in place to help stop the spread of COVID-19:
• Wear a mask in public places and where physical distancing cannot be maintained
• Practise hand hygiene regularly
• Avoid gatherings and crowds
• Avoid sharing objects
• Practise physical distancing of more than 1 metre.
