16 new Covid-19 cases recorded |20 January 2021
Cases of Covid-19 in the country keep on increasing with 16 new cases recorded yesterday, bringing the total number of Covid-19 cases to 762.
Of the 16 new cases, 11 are Seychellois and the remaining five are foreigners, all of whom are on the main island, Mahé.
These results include samples collected between January 14 and 17.
Meanwhile 38 cases – 19 foreigners and 19 Seychellois – have recovered and have been discharged into convalescence.
The number of Covid-19 related deaths in the country remains at two while the total number of recovered patients has reached 601.
All the 159 active cases are in isolation and contact tracing efforts continue.
To note, 135 of the active cases are Seychellois, 22 are visitors or GOP holders and 2 are Spanish seafarers.
The country remains under a restriction of movement order until January 28, 2021, when the order will be revised.
