SPDF personnel taking their Covid-19 vaccine jab

The Seychelles People’s Defence Forces (SPDF) joined the national Covid-19 vaccination efforts yesterday with a campaign targeting all SPDF units – the Coast Guard, the Seychelles Air Force, the Army – as well as its administrative staff.

A total of 68 military personnel and civilian staff, primarily from the defence forces headquarters, received their first doses of the Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine on the first day yesterday.

The vaccination programme within the SPDF is expected to continue throughout the week and scheduled to end on Friday, January 22.

By the end of this week, the SPDF expects that around 70% of its service personnel and civilian staff would have received their first dose of the vaccine.
