ANB seizes suspected cannabis and heroin at Pointe Larue

 

The Anti-Narcotics Bureau (ANB) within the Seychelles Police Force has started an investigation following the seizure by its officers of approximately 30 kilogrammes of suspected cannabis (herbal) and 96 grammes of heroin.

The seizure took place on Saturday December 26, 2020 when they responded to view the suspected drugs at a warehouse in the Pointe Larue district.

No persons were arrested during this seizure.

Man convicted for possession of controlled drug

 

The Supreme Court has convicted Michel, Allen, Romario Lespoir, a 26-year-old male casual labourer of Corgat Estate, for the offence of possession of a controlled drug, 45.30 grammes of heroin with a purity content of 9.06 grammes.

Lespoir has been sentenced to 12 months imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to the charge against him.

While serving this term of imprisonment, Lespoir is to attend a rehabilitation programme as determined by the prison authorities in collaboration with the Agency for Prevention of Drug Abuse and Rehabilitation (Apdar).

He was arrested in possession of the drug at Corgat Estate on March 11 2020 by officers of the Anti-Narcotics Bureau (ANB) of the Seychelles Police Force,
