Contestants get glimpse of coveted crown
Contestants for the upcoming Miss Seychelles: The National Pageant had the opportunity to have a glimpse and feel of the coveted crown that the winner will be bestowed with during the crowning ceremony.
The ‘unveiling’ of the crown took place in a short ceremony held recently at the Eden Bleu Hotel in the presence of family and friends of the contestants as well as stakeholders of Beauty Empowerment Seychelles (Bes), the pageant’s organisers.
Also in attendance were former Miss Seychelles winners Christina Pillay, Lynn Freminot and Anna Mary Jorre de St. Jorre.
The crown for this year's pageant has been sponsored by Mary Geers who handed it over to the chairperson of Bes, Stephanie Duval, at the ceremony last Wednesday.
The crown is a replica of the Miss World Crown and has only been worn in 2015. After introducing themselves, the contestants had the chance to try on this most coveted crown and take a souvenir photo with it.
During the event, Alma Artiaga, an international model, addressed the audience and conveyed a message of support to the contestants, asking everyone to rally behind the team to support the cause.
Part of the proceeds collected during the event by Eden Bleu hotel was given to Bes in a small ceremony shortly after the unveiling of the crown.
The donation was presented by the GM of Eden Bleu Hotel to Ms Duval.
