As part of its global support to countries during the Covid-19 pandemic, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) office in Seychelles recently donated 1000 Covid-19 test kits.

The handover ceremony was held at the Sheikh Khalifa diagnostic centre.

It was UNDP’s programme manager Roland Alcindor who handed over the test kits to secretary of state for Health, Ambassador Marie-Pierre Lloyd, on behalf of the UNDP resident representative Amanda Kabeija Serumaga.

The kits will assist in the department of health’s effort in tackling the virus, especially now as the country fully reopened its borders for travel and tourism on August 1.

The kits are manufactured by CEPHEID, an internationally recognised company specialising in diagnostic tools for testing the novel coronavirus and test results can be obtained rapidly within the hour.
