Two men get suspended sentences for drug trafficking |21 August 2020

The Supreme Court last Friday convicted two men in two separate drug cases, after they both pleaded guilty to the offence of trafficking in of a controlled drug. They both received two years suspended prison sentences (with condition that they do not commit any similar offence within the two years otherwise the prison sentence will be activated) and were fined (payable within a six-month period).

Jude Walter Vidot, aged 30 years, a rock driller and resident of Anse Royale, was fined R15,000.

Francisko Tim Zialor, aged 34 years, a driver (taksi pirat)/mechanic of Brillant was fined R20,000.

They were both arrested by officers of the Anti-Narcotics Bureau (ANB) within the Seychelles Police Force in possession of the drug. Vidot was arrested at Anse Aux Pins on January 29, 2019 with 40.3 grammes of herbal cannabis whereas Zialor was arrested at Brillant on June 13, 2019 with 2.63 grammes of heroin.
