New hangout hotspot for gourmet food lovers

Hilton’s Labriz Gastrolounge officially opened its doors to customers who enjoy gourmet food and fine dining.

The soft opening event on Friday evening was attended by the Minister for Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine Didier Dogley, Hilton’s management staff, members of the diplomatic corps and friends of Hilton Seychelles.

The Gastrolounge has been described as a palatable adventure to satisfy any craving where people can enjoy exclusive dining at a new hangout hotspot offering gourmet food, fine wine and thirst-quenching cocktails complemented by scrumptious platters.

Located at the Labriz lounge at Bel Ombre where people take the boat to Silhouette, the Gastrolounge is the first of its kind on Mahé.

Before the lounge was simply a place for people to pass through on their way to Silhouette; now with the opening of the Gastrolounge, people will also be able to dine, drink and relax as they look onto the sea.

The Gastrolounge offers TGIF Fridays, weekday business lunch, live entertainment, office space and more.

Hilton Labriz general manager, Andre Borg, noted that the Gastrolounge wants to attract a high-end clientele.

“We hope to attract people who can afford not to be tied up in an office, business people and university students who want to come work and spend the day here,” Mr Borg noted during the opening.

“It’s a great pride to officially declare the Labriz Gastrolounge open. It took a lot of courage, passion and dedication to realise this project. We would like this place to have a purpose within the community, not just be another restaurant,” he added.

On his part, Minister Dogley said that it is brave for Hilton to open up a new restaurant during a time when the country is facing a health and economic crisis.

He noted that the Gastrolounge will add to the small marina that the ministry is planning to construct for leisure boats in Bel Ombre.

Labriz Gastrolounge is open from 11am to 11pm everyday but reservations need to be made as the lounge has a maximum capacity cut off point to ensure social distancing.
