Wipo, Aripo delegates here to run seminar on intellectual property |01 July 2019

High-level delegations from the African Regional Intellectual Property Organisation and the World Intellectual Property Organisation will be organising a consultation and national seminar on intellectual property tomorrow from 8am to 4pm.

The aim of their visit is to raise awareness on intellectual property, share World Intellectual Property Organisation (Wipo) and African Regional Intellectual Property Organisation (Aripo) mandates on intellectual property, share Wipo’s technical cooperation tools for development, present findings of the 2017 review of the Implementation of Intellectual Property Development Plan, consult with various intellectual property stakeholders about how best to implement intellectual property laws and to establish a status quo of intellectual property in Seychelles and way forward.

The delegation is made up of Fernando dos Santos, director general of the African Regional Organisation (Aripo), Julieta Nhane, programme officer of the Regional Bureau for Africa of Wipo and Getachew Mengistie, intellectual property law consultant and attorney.

Minister for Finance, Trade, Investment and Economic Planning, Maurice Loustau-Lalanne will meet with the delegation today.
