Jehovah’s Witnesses convention on streaming platform

Always Rejoice!

The 2020 regional convention of Jehovah's Witnesses, the theme of which is ‘Always Rejoice!’ is being held on a streaming platform.

Millions of people in 240 countries and territories are “meeting” since July 10 for the regional assembly of Jehovah's Witnesses with the theme ‘Always rejoice!’

These assemblies are usually held in stadiums, exhibition halls, conference rooms, etc. For the first time in their history, Jehovah's Witnesses have decided to hold their regional assemblies on a streaming platform.

The meeting was planned in the Seychelles to be held in September at the International Conference Centre (ICCS), where 700 people were expected. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this meeting was cancelled in April.

Franck Duthuit, spokesman for the Jehovah's Witnesses, explains: “What unites us is less the fact of finding ourselves than love for God and for our neighbour. The assembly's programme will show how to remain cheerful despite the difficulties present.”

The programme of the regional convention, which should have been held over a period of three days, is being presented in six half-day parts. The first and second parts were viewed with the family, during the weekends of July 11 and 20, 2020.

This year's programme is addressing questions such as: How to find and keep joy? How can we cultivate joy in our family? How can we remain happy in the face of hardship?

To view this programme for free, just go to the website JW.ORG, under the Library/JW Broadcasting tab.

Since the beginning of March, Jehovah's Witnesses have closed all their Halls in the Kingdom and replaced their weekend public meetings with virtual meetings on video-conference sites. Their public ministry has also been temporarily suspended and replaced by alternative forms.

Many non-Jehovah's Witnesses attend these assemblies: of the 14 million assistants in the 2019 cycle, 8,600,000 were Jehovah's Witnesses. This year, this figure is expected to be exceeded as the programme will be available in several hundred languages.
