PUC introduces online payment

Mr Zialor giving details about PUC’s online payment platform

Public Utilities Corporation’s online payment platform allows its customers to make instant bill payments anytime, anywhere.

The utilities company officially launched the online payment website on Friday at the Electricity House, Roche Caïman.

This has been done to satisfy public demand and to provide a 24-hour convenient, safe and user-friendly facility feature to PUC’s customer portal. It has been designed to provide PUC customers with a seamless and stress-free bill payment experience.

“The service will only be available to customers who have access to the PUC customer portal. The system accepts bill payments from the following card brands: Visa cards (of most commercial banks), Master card as well as Amex,” said Michel Zialor, chief commercial officer of PUC.

He added that for the time being part payment will not be available on the online payment method.

“Presently, the online facility accepts full payment for the last issued invoices only. PUC is exploring the possibility of accepting part payment, but right now if customers wish to pay part of their bills they will have to come to our offices,” said Mr Zialor.

“All accounts are available on the online portal but customers and businesses have to register in order to use them,” added Mr Zialor.

To use the service, clients will have to go to myaccount.puc.sc and enter their login information which will take them to the PUC online payment home page. On the home page they will see all their accounts as well as their balance, statements and past invoices. If they wish to pay their bills they will have to click on invoice and payment and this will take them to the process to begin payment. After payment has been processed, customers will get a receipt on the customer portal.

For the time being the service is only available via the PUC website, however Mr Zialor did express the interest on developing an app for it in the future.

The CCO added that this is one out of many new services that PUC has rolled out in the last couple of months in order to make payment easier for customers.

“In the future we will be decentralising the customer care service which is for now available only in Victoria. The service will become available in many districts,” said Mr Zialor.

He added that in a couple of months there will be new centres in Anse Royale, Beau Vallon, Anse Boileau and Providence.
