President Faure sends congratulatory message to President Donald Trump |08 July 2020

To commemorate the Independence Day of the United States of America on July 4, President Danny Faure conveyed a message of congratulations to Donald Trump, President of the United States of America.

“On this day, 244 years ago, marked the Independence of the United States of America. A day which is now dedicated to the remembrance of your people’s devotion to achieve self-determination, liberty and freedom.

“A day, which formed the pillars of your society and paved the way for your country’s success, as an exemplary beacon of democratic ideals, high respect for institutions, pioneers of economic development and continuous devotion to the international community,” expressed President Faure.

He further added: “On behalf of the government and of the people of the Republic of Seychelles, it gives me great pleasure and honour to convey to you, to the government and to the people of the United States of America our sincerest felicitations on the occasion of your country’s Independence Day.”

President Faure underlined that Seychelles and the United States of America have jointly navigated various areas of mutual interest, namely maritime security, peace and countering piracy.

“It is our fervent hope that our countries will continue on this journey as resilient and determined bilateral partners,” concluded President Faure.
