Ministry to provide rent relief to some tourism-related businesses |14 May 2020

The Ministry of Finance, Trade, Investment and Economic Planning has announced it will waive the collection of April, May and June 2020 rentals for certain tourism-related businesses operating on government property. The decision to provide rent relief has been taken in light that many of these businesses have been forced to close their doors temporarily due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, which has effectively ceased all tourist arrivals to Seychelles.

The government entities collecting rentals from businesses are: Enterprise Seychelles Agency (ESA), the Seychelles Heritage Foundation (SHF) and the Industrial Estates Authority (IEA). The respective boards of these government entities will determine eligibility.

The Ministry of Finance, Trade, Investment and Economic Planning will review the situation at the end of June to determine whether any further relief is needed.
