President Faure sends condolences to the Sovereign Military Order of Malta

President Danny Faure has sent his condolences to the Grand Commander Fra’ Ruy Gonçalo do Valle Peixoto de Villas Boas, Lieutenant ad interim, acting as head of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, upon hearing of the demise of His Most Eminent Highness (H.M.E.H) the Prince and Grand Master Fra’ Giacomo Dalla Torre Del Tempio Di Sanguinetto on April 29, 2020.

In his message, President Faure stated: “Grandmaster Torre executed his duties with great purpose, dedication and tenacity during his reign and was a truly exceptional leader. His Highness accomplished numerous achievements and accolades during his tenure that underlined his tireless and noble devotion to the cause, including the position of Prince and Grand Master of the Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of St. John of Jerusalem, of Rhodes and of Malta.”

“In a distinguished career, it is well known that His Highness carried out multiple international pilgrimages, conducted State visits and was a champion for the disabled. I have always admired His Highness as a man of great spirituality who espoused integrity and compassion,” continued President Faure.

The President further expressed that “The Seychelles, primarily a Christian country, has always had a vested interest in the Sovereign Military Order of Malta. The government and people of Seychelles join me in extending our heart-felt appreciation to the Order for all the assistance that we have received over the years.”
