ANB communiqué - Supreme Court charges two Seychellois male suspects linked to drug importation |21 June 2019

The Supreme Court has charged and maintained remand of two of the four male suspects involved in the case of importation of 974.47 grammes of heroin which entered Seychelles as a parcel via the Airport Cargo last month.

The two men, a 22-year-old Airport Fireman of Au Cap and a 27-year-old ‘Taxi Pirat’ driver from Les Mamelles, were charged for several related drug trafficking offences (trafficking in a controlled drug, aiding and abetting another person to commit an offence of trafficking in a controlled drug and agreeing with another person that a course of conduct shall be pursued which if pursued will necessarily amount to or to involve the commission of an offence).

As for the other two men, an unemployed 44-year-old inhabitant of Les Mamelles and a 41-year-old seafarer from Grand Anse Praslin, they were both released by the court without any charges.

The next Court hearing in this case will be on July 1, 2019.
