Postal services introduces precautionary measures amid COVID-19 |28 March 2020

As part of measures to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, the Seychelles Postal Services has made changes to its office hours as follows:

  • Central Post office – opening hours will be from 9am to 2pm.
  • Baie Ste Anne, Grand Anse Praslin and La Digue the sub-posts will open from 8am to 12 noon.
  • Anse Royale – sub post will be closed as from Monday March 30, 2020, until further notice.

Other measures:

1)        Outbound International Post

We will not be accepting outbound international mails with immediate effect in view of no connection.

2)        Local Post

There will be delay in mail delivery since our postmen team will focus on urgent documents only.

3)        Inbound Post

In view of cancelled flights we are discouraging the general public to do online purchases as these will not be delivered presently in view of no inbound flights.

4)        Small Packet Section

Clients are to use 9646 booking system for small packet collection at our Victoria office. Only sub-post office will accept walk-in clients.

5)        Parcel Section

We will clear out the remaining parcel already in the Post Office.   We are no longer receiving new ones. This section will be left with only two staff as from Monday next week. They will assist other section as may be required.

6)        Customer Service

This will remain closed.

Clients having any queries will be required to use the following methods;

a)        Any Track & Trace queries can be done directly onto our website of http://www.seychelles-post.com

b)        For other queries clients are to send us an email which will be attended by DCEO/ADO/as well as Sharon:

-          customerservice@seychellespost.gov.sc

-          inquiries@seychellespost.gov.sc

Clients may also use available Customer Service Forms that we will be available in all our offices 

7)        Meetings and Visitors

Meetings will either be postponed or held via teleconference so as to avoid physical contact. We will also not be able to receive any visitors aside clients doing transactions.

8)        Social Distancing

We will be limiting the number of clients at one time in our offices.

-          Sub Post Praslin: 2 at the same time

-          La Digue: 1 at a time

-          Central Office: 4 in small packet & 5 at main counter
