Basketball: 10th Indian Ocean Island Games (IOIG) – Mauritius – July 19-28, 2019

National pre-selections on South Africa training camp

As preparations for the upcoming 10th Indian Ocean Island Games scheduled for Mauritius from July 19-28, the country’s two national basketball selections will be attending a 20-day training camp in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The women’s selection made up of Magdeline Julienne, Jana Malbrook, Tasha Barbé, Samia Asba, Guyra Boniface, Simone Malbrook, Kettyna Figaro, Sheriffa Agathine, Beguitta Fontaine, Myra Solin, Serah Rose, Solange François, Michelle Ah-Kong and Jade Choisy, left the country on Monday.

They are under the leadership of head coach Michel Malbrook, assistant coach Tony Juliette and team manager Juliana Laporte.

As for the men’s selection, it is made up of Stan Jean, Khris Bouchereau, Steven André, Jean-Philip Esparon, Dave Roseline, Taryll Hall, Alao Solomon, Chris André, Andrew Rath, Stan Tomking, Timmy Adam, Faizel Naiken, Amadou Sylla and Abdel Sylla. They will leave the country tomorrow.

The players are being accompanied by head coach Dominic Pillay, assistant coach Gregoire Scholastique and team manager Joliff Nicette.

International Basketball Federation (Fiba) expert Randy Haefner who is the national team’s technical adviser will also make the trip to South Africa.
