5th June Avenue now a three-lane street |12 March 2020
After months of construction work, the now three-lane 5th June Avenue is ready for use by motorists and pedestrians.
Instead of one lane entering town and one lane exiting as was the case before, now there are two lanes exiting town and one lane entering.
The Seychelles Land Transport Agency (SLTA) says the additional lane is expected to ease traffic flow in the area during peak hours.
The extra lane added will help remove traffic from Victoria towards the south.
According to the agency, traffic congestion around the Bicentennial Monument roundabout during peak hours is expected to improve now that the project has been completed.
SLTA also notes that motorists should drive with caution on the new lane until they get use to the new change.
