The new Seychelles high commissioner to Jamaica, Lalatiana Accouche, presented her credentials to the Governor General of Jamaica, The Most Honourable Sir Patrick Allen, at a ceremony held at Kings House in Kingston on March 2, 2020.
High Commissioner Accouche conveyed to the Governor General the warm greetings from President Danny Faure and the people of Seychelles.
Since the establishment of diplomatic relations on February 26, 1979, Seychelles and Jamaica, two island nations, members of Commonwealth, have enjoyed a long, friendly relationship based on common values, shared aspirations and mutual respect.
Last December, President Danny Faure engaged with H.E. Andrew Holness, Prime Minister of Jamaica, in bilateral discussions in the margins of the 9th ACP Summit of Heads of State and Government.
Both sides are thus committed to devising the best mechanism in order to further strengthen the relationship and flourish into a positive partnership by exploring all possible avenues to elevate the engagements to greater height for the wellbeing of the two peoples.
High Commissioner Accouche is based in Havana, Cuba.
