Fatal accident on Praslin |03 March 2020
The police have reported that a 75-year-old German national died on Sunday night on Praslin after he was hit by a motor cycle.
The rider of the motor bike, an 18-year-old male from Grand Anse Praslin, is admitted in the intensive care unit and his condition has been described as critical. A third person, another 18-year-old male passenger on the motor bike, is admitted on the ward.
The two 18-year-olds were flown over to Mahé on Sunday night following the accident which was in the vicinity of Sea Shell Beach Villa of Amitié.
It is reported that the 75-year-old German, who was in the company of his wife, was hit by the motorcycle while attempting to cross the road. At the time of this incident, the rider and passenger were heading from Anse Kerlan towards Baie Ste Anne.
Sunday night’s tragic accident was reported to the headquarters’ police control and command centre by an unidentified female at around 8.25pm.
The German couple arrived in Seychelles on February 23, and were due to leave the country on March 13.
Investigation is underway in this third fatal accident for this year.
It is to be noted that last year no fatality was recorded on Praslin.
