Azemia, Lesperance, Gamatis, Ray get third consecutive wins
Neil Azemia (boys’ under-16, 2km), Kurt Lesperance (boys’ under-18, 4km), Elva Gamatis (master female over 35 years, 6km) and Rudra Ray Chatkuli (male master over 35 years, 8km) each picked up a third consecutive win in the third and final round of the cross-country series races.
All the action was at the Roche Caïman fitness trail on Saturday as distance runners pitted their ability in endurance running.
A member fo the Port Glaud Shooting Star (PGSS) club, Azemia won the boys’ under 16 years old group 2km (one lap) race in 7 minutes 00.3 seconds (7:00.3).
Fellow PGSS runner Kurt Lesperance finished the 4km (two-lap) race for boys’ under 18 years in 13:45.3.
The other two three-time winners competed in the masters categories.
Chatkuli Rudra Ray ran the male masters category 8km (four-lap) race in 31:21.1 and Elva Gamatis stopped the clock at 29:54.9 in the female masters (women over 35 years old category) 6km (three-lap) race.
