Two Seychellois students in Wuhan flown to France |04 February 2020

The department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and Agency for National Human Resource Development (ANHRD) have confirmed that the two Seychellois students in Wuhan, the epicenter of the novel coronavirus, have been safely transferred to France, with the kind assistance of the French authorities, on Sunday February 2, 2020, along with other European nationals.

The students will remain in a confinement centre in France for fourteen days, as part of the health requirements, before travelling to Seychelles.

Necessary arrangements will be made for their safe return to Seychelles soon.

The coordinating role of the DFA, with the assistance of the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development, ANHRD and the Ministry of Health, have made this ‘operation’ possible for both students.

All parties involved appreciate the support and patience of the parents throughout this difficult process.

The Seychelles government is truly grateful for the kind assistance of the French authorities for the smooth and safe transfer of the students.

The Seychelles government is also grateful to the Chinese authorities in facilitating the safe movement of the students.
