As of today, the Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA) is starting work at the airport’s parking area A – the large car park behind the Skychef Building – in preparation for the introduction of a pay parking system.

Contacted by phone, SCAA noted that this forms part of its continuing efforts to improve and provide adequate parking on existing land availability.

Through this project it will be re-aligning the entrance and exit points of Parking Area A. The works start today and will involve the relocation of security kiosk, excavation works for installation of cables, repositioning of access boom arms and the creation of access joining existing parking area A to parking area B.

The works are estimated to be completed by January 31, 2020, and the implementation of pay parking is scheduled to begin towards the end of February 2020.

Due to increasing demand for parking spaces at Seychelles International Airport and in its continued efforts towards improving overall service to airport users, the SCAA says the introduction of pay parking is aimed towards ensuring better control measures are in place.

SCAA notes that forthcoming projects will be communicated to the media in due course.
