Temporary counters set up at airport to speed up check-in formalities

Air Seychelles has been allocated a special area at the airport to check-in its international bound passengers during the busy New Year period.

The Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA) has provided a vacant area at the ex Skychef Restaurant to Air Seychelles, who has set up the following:

• Electronic scale to weigh passenger luggage

• 4 mobile check-in counters

• One business class check-in lane

• One bag drop lane

• Queuing lane for two economy class check-in.

These temporary counters will be operational until January 12, 2020.

During known peak international departures for Air Seychelles flights, the airline will have staff at the international terminal concourse to identify and guide passengers to the area where the temporary international check-in counters have been set up.

Passengers will have their luggage weighed and tagged before proceeding in appropriate check-in lanes.

Once passengers have been checked-in, their luggage will be stored and moved to the international departure conveyor belt system for loading procedures.

The SCAA is calling on the travelling public to report at the airport not later than three hours before all international departures to ensure timely check-in is conducted and to proceed without delay through immigration and security check points to ensure on time departure of scheduled flights.

Departing passengers are also encouraged to use online check-in platforms of their respective airline.
