Outer islands brace themselves for more stormy weather |04 December 2019

Following the Orange Alert issued by the Seychelles Meteorological Agency on Monday, the Islands Development Company (IDC) has provided an update on the weather situation on the outer islands.

Similarly to Mahé, the islands have experienced rain and strong winds over the last few days.

As a precautionary measure, clients on Astove and Cosmoledo have been evacuated and yesterday IDC flew clients out of Farquhar.

Over the coming few days, it is expected that winds gusting up to 100km/h will blow over some outer islands.

The weather forecast indicates that Platte, Coetivy, Alphonse, Providence and Farquhar will be more badly hit.
