Adrian Dufrene sentenced to two years for drug possession and trafficking |26 November 2019

Adrian Yanick Dufrene, a 22-year-old unemployed male of Ile Perseverance 2, has been sentenced to two years in prison for drug possession and trafficking.

The Supreme Court passed the judgment on Friday November 22, 2019 after Dufrene pleaded guilty for the offence of possession of controlled drug with intent to traffic 19.77 grammes of heroin (containing 22% purity, 4.34 grammes heroin).

Dufrene was arrested on November 3, 2017 by officers of the Anti-Narcotics Bureau (ANB) of the Seychelles Police Force at Ile Perseverance 2 in possession of the mentioned drug.

In sentencing Dufrene, Judge Ronny Govinden ordered that the convict being presently on a drug rehabilitation programme will be entitled to continue the same programme at the Montagne Posée prison.
