Preparations underway for Seychelles Fashion Week 2019 |22 October 2019

Preparations is well underway for the second Seychelles Fashion Week 2019 which will run from November 29 to 30 at the Eden Bleu Hotel.

The event’s organiser, Terry Carolla, has said that the marketing and promotion of the event was carried out and targeted towards special fashion groups on social media including the five international designers who participated in the 2018 Fashion Week here, an event which attracted 22 international designers from the USA, Europe, Asia and Africa.

A total of 60 models from Seychelles, Nigeria, Uganda and Eswatini, including eight international models, will strut their stuff on the catwalk in a variety of costumes prepared by the 27 designers.

Top Model TV Host Bettinah Tianah, who has her own YouTube channel, will be the celebrity model for the event and will MC the event alongside MC Sylvie aka Madame Franchement from K Radio. The event will also be reported by Fashion TV Africa.

Both the You Tube channel and Fashion TV Africa will also report on Seychelles as a tourism destination and the Seychelles Fashion week.

The second Seychelles Fashion Week could possibly see the launch of an international bikini brand by designer Andrea Teofilatto from Italy.

This year Pastel cosmetic brand will be the official make up brand and Rikoko owned by Seychellois Richy Kandasamy, who is living in the USA, will be our official hair stylist. He will also be a keynote speaker for a business forum alongside Clavon Leonard from USA, Bettinah Tianah from Uganda, Angelic Appoo, the chief executive of Enterprise Seychelles Agency (ESA), Peter Rosalie and a representative from Seychelles Institute of Arts and Design (SIAD).

This year’s Fashion Week will also feature an exhibition during the two days by international and local designers and artisans. The general public are welcome for the show and to view the exhibitions.

Tickets are being sold at R500 VIP and R300 normal. For both shows tickets will sell at R900 VIP and R550 normal. The organisers are advising the public to purchase their tickets early as seats are limited.

November 25 – 9am to 4pm: Pastel Cosmetic workshop with models & makeup artists at ICCS

November 26 – 9am to 4pm: Models bootcamp by Clavon Leonard from USA at ICCS

All Day: Arrival of all designers

November 27 – 8am to 12pm: Business Forum for all designers, models & public at ICCS.

7pm to 11pm: Official launch cocktail at Eden Bleu

November 28 – 8am to 5pm: Fittings and the catwalk training at ICCS

November 29 – 8pm: 1st Group, Fashion show Eden Bleu

November 30 – 8pm: 2nd Group Fashion show at Eden Bleu

10pm to 2am: After Party for all models, designers and guests at Eden Bleu

December 1 – All day outing for all designers and models
