Bibianne Bristol, R1.5 Mini Maz Million lottery winner

Ms Bristol, winner of the Mini Maz Million lottery star prize

The first Mini Maz Million lottery had their first winners drawn on Sunday October 6, at Beau Vallon. Bibianne Bristol is the winner of the star prize of R1.5 million with the winning ticket 09806.

Coincidentally, it was with that same ticket number (09806) that nine-year-old Jean-Claude Grandcourt from Grand Anse Praslin won the star prize of R4 million in the third Maz Million lottery drawn on June 30 this year.

Speaking to Seychelles NATION following her lucky win, Ms Bristol said:

“I am still in shock. I did not hear the news as I was on Praslin for the wedding of my niece. A friend of my niece called to announce us the good news. We rewound the news and indeed I heard my name. Full of joy we celebrated the news. My only family is my sister and my two nieces and I am retired. Soon I will be 66 years old and by the grace of God things are good for me.”

She bought only one ticket in town and luck smiled at her.

Many Seychellois gathered at Beau Vallon on Sunday to take part in the fun day organised by Maz Million.

“We were happy with the response the Mini Maz Million received from the public and many people bought the lottery tickets which were being sold at R250. The number of tickets sold was beyond our expectations,” said Marie-France MacGregor, the chief executive of Maz Million.

Maz Million has brought in a new culture in our society explained by Mrs MacGregor. “I feel good and my heart is happy seeing all these people winning. My biggest reward is when people tell me that I am making a difference in their lives. Let’s face it…no one will give you a million rupees like this. Six people have won a million rupees and more since we started the lottery. The winners usually come by again and thank me for this initiative and give me lots of blessings and this gives me lots of joy and fulfillment,” added Mrs MacGregor.

The winners will be receiving their gift this coming Friday at the Treasure Cove at Bel Ombre.

Both the Mini Maz Million and Maz Million lotteries will be drawn every six months.

The next family fun time will be on December 30 for the Maz Million R5 million draw!

R. Morel from Victoria won the first prize of R1 million, Yvon Bistoquet from Beau Vallon picked up the second prize of R500,000 and the third prize of R250,000 went to Steven Esparon from Anse Royale.

The full list of all winners of the Mini Maz Million lottery is published in today’s Seychelles NATION.
