Brazilian man charged with importation of 1.9kg of cocaine |02 August 2019

The Supreme Court yesterday charged a 22-year-old male Brazilian national with the offence of importation of a controlled drug (1.9kg of cocaine).

The man, who had been on remand since July 18, 2019, was arrested by officers of the Anti-Narcotics Bureau (ANB) of the Seychelles Police Force in collaboration with the Immigration and Customs officers on July 17, 2019 at the Seychelles International Airport in possession of the drug.

He had arrived on board an Ethiopian Airlines flight from Addis Ababa but he is originally from Brazil.

He will reappear before the court on August 14, 2019.
