Marpol security firm donates to Red Cross Society of Seychelles

The Marpol security firm hasmade a generous donation of basic food and baby items to the Red Cross Society of Seychelles.

Managing director of Marpol security firm, Hillary Dubignon handed over the donation to representatives of the Red Cross Society of Seychelles (RCSS) during a short ceremony at the Harbour Light restaurant on Friday morning.

This is the second donation made by this security firm towards the welfare of the less fortunate in our society.

Martin Aglaé, director general of Marpol security firm,noted after the handover that “as a firm operating in Seychelles, we feel compelled to help our brothers and sisters who are still sleeping without a proper meal. Today’s donation to the RCSS is for it to better help those who are really in need.”

He also announced that their company has started a pilot project in the same line. “We have decided to give a sum of R5,000 per month to one family in a district for 26 months. We will work with the district authorities to identify one such family. Today we are happy to give a cheque forR5,000 to the first family coming from the district of Grand Anse Mahe,” Mr Aglaé announced.

The items donated were bought from contributions received from staff of Marpol security who contributed a sum of R36,000.

“I thank the staff for this generous contribution and we hope that it will be of some help. Whenever we feel we have the means, we will call upon the RCSS to see what their needs are,” noted Mr Aglaé.

Marie-May Esparon, secretary general of RCSS,expressed her appreciation at this donation and welcomedsuch initiatives by different companies.

“At the RCSS, we do appreciate the efforts and initiatives of each and everyone to help the society and also we welcome any gesture coming from the heart,” said Ms Esparon.
