Local advertising agency garners international exposure and recognition for Seychelles |15 December 2017

The Mercedes Benz Bokeh International Fashion Film Festival takes place every year in Cape Town and Johannesburg, South Africa and showcases various fashion films from around the globe. The festival is attended by filmmakers, designers and business heads in the International film and fashion world and has become the most creative and inspiring festival of its kind globally.

Local advertising agency Rockit’s short fashion film ‘JOUEL -  Forever Paradise’  was selected to be screened at Bokeh  earlier this year. Managing director of Rockit, Roxanne Bennett, and Rockit cinematographer De Waal Rautenbach flew down to Cape Town to speak about and showcase their film to 300 other international filmmakers and directors.

“JOUEL is one of Seychelles’ most iconic brands, perfectly capturing and reflecting the essence of Seychelles’ exceptional beauty in all of their jewelry pieces,” says Ms Bennett. “It was with this in mind that we shot our short film, showcasing not only the beauty of JOUEL, but also the natural beauty of Seychelles.”

“We were delighted to be selected to be screened at this prestigious event. Our main aim for undertaking this project was not only to provide a fantastic advert for JOUEL, but also to further generate international exposure for the brand and also for Seychelles as a filming destination.”

General manager of JOUEL, Agnes Naidoo Legras, commented: “The reason for creating the JOUEL video is to tell a story which will get people interested in us and our brand.  Our clients’ level of interest has grown since the video was released and they are more interested in our business, in what we do and what we sell.  Part of the success of this video is due to Rockit for its professional work which has led it to a well-deserved opportunity at the Bokeh International Fashion Film festival.”

‘JOUEL- Forever Paradise’ received high commend at the festival and as a result the short fashion film was selected and is currently being broadcasted on a number of TV Channels throughout Africa including DSTV, Fashion One TV, Comcast, Always-On and Amazon.
