This live show filled only with Creole performances will take place this coming Saturday starting at 6pm at the mini stadium (La Promenade playing field) in Victoria.

The show is organised by Takamaka Rum and Air Seychelles in partnership with Etihad Airways, Round Table Seychelles (RTS), Pure FM Seychelles, Oceana Sport Fishing Club supported by the Small Enterprise Promotion Agency (Senpa).

Désiré Francois and Cassiya will be the Mauritian group performing while the line-up of local artists comprise Jakim, Mercenary, Champion, Joseph Sinon, Regi, Elijah and the Warrior Band, Philip Toussaint, Jean-Marc Volcy, Ion Kid, Swagg Tunes, Extra Big and Sandra.

There is also a special early Christmas promotion with Air Seychelles to get 20% discount on flight tickets in both economy and business classes from Seychelles to Abu Dhabi, Antananarivo, Mauritius, Mumbai and Paris for travel between January 15, 2017 and April 15, 2017.

To book your flight enter the code HMCASSIYA on the Air Seychelles website www.airseychelles.com. Sales have already started and expect to end on December 31, 2016.

The Air Seychelles Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) manager Josie Michaud Payet said their intention was to have a live show staged only by local artists in return for the support which the national airline provides them along the year.

“We teamed up with Takamaka Rum who coincidentally was planning to have a major concert with the Cassiya group and we felt it was a great idea to merge them together,” she said.

She said another reason Air Seychelles is supporting this concert is because Mauritius is one of their busiest and most profitable routes.

She said the show is also a charitable gesture in which everyone should contribute as the proceeds will be used to buy hearing aids for children with hearing impairment.

“We want the community to be involved to the maximum in the joy of giving and while celebrating during this festive season to also think of the needy so that by Christmas next year the children will also be able to hear the jingle bells,” she said.

The chief operating officer of Takamaka Rum, Hedjaz Auckburally, said Takamaka Rum has been very involved in the events held this year especially supporting international artists who came to perform.

“This time we wanted to do something more Creole and regional, and that’s why we thought of bringing Cassiya which is a renowned and popular band in Mauritius and Seychelles alike.

He said as a result of their partnership with Air Seychelles where they raised R500,000 during the Regatta for the schools’ water fountain project, they decided to further their collaboration.

“This pre-Christmas show will bring a great spirit into the community and give good vibes as Christmas approaches and the year comes to an end,” he said.

He said the VIP ticket allows you access to an open bar with unlimited food and beverages, access to a sheltered area and front stage privileges, as well as the opportunity to meet and greet with the band.

“On Saturday, Seychellois can expect a very good, vibrant show with live bands throughout because at Takamaka we take fun seriously,” he said.
