New marine lift services – good news for boat owners and fishing vessels |04 November 2016

A new business which offers lift services for all types of boats and fishing vessels of up to 65 tonnes  using a modern crane called a Marine Travel Lift, is now operational at Zone 20 at the Providence Industrial Estate.

The business Swift Lift belonging to the Ernestine family is managed by Malcolm Ernestine and Steve Accouche.

Vessels of up to 7.8m large and 65 to 70ft long can be accommodated.

Allan Ernestine, the owner of Swift Lift, says the business location is safe with security provided, is well lighted at night providing the possibility for working up till late, it is fully fenced, fully concreted and among the services it offers alongside the lift are high pressure clean, anti-fouling, berthing, container storage facilities and much more..

“It is a boatyard-cum-marina where up to 20 vessels can berth at any one time,” Mr Ernestine points out.

Mr Ernestine says the services being offered by Swift Lift are one of the first of its kind here although Gondwana offers similar services for much larger vessels.

He adds that so far a considerable number of fishing vessels and longliners have been lifted and have made use of the services offered and their owners have expressed satisfaction which he says is very encouraging.

Mr Ernestine says all measures are taken to ensure all the poisonous substances used in the cleaning and which are removed from underneath the vessels are properly and carefully disposed of and have no chance of returning back to the sea to contaminate marine life.

He noted that there are up to six working bays allowing the same number of people to work at the same time.

Mr Ernestine describes the prices Swift Lift offers for its services as competitive.

“We offer the best prices in Seychelles,” he says, noting that Swift Lift opens for service from 8am to 4.30pm with the possibility for extended hours. It also caters for emergencies.

Swift Lift can be reached on 2515667/2810993.
