Miss Seychelles 2016 … Another World beauty pageant |06 May 2016

Contestants take part in first charity activity

The 12 contestants taking part in this year’s Miss Seychelles … Another World beauty pageant has performed their first charity activity. This was at the Les Cannelles Wellness Centre last weekend.

The charity and interaction activity formed part of preparations for their involvement in this year’s pageant to be held on May 28 at the International Conference Centre of Seychelles (ICCS).

Upon their arrival at Les Cannelles, the smiling and happy beauty contestants along with their support team were greeted by the consultant-in-charge of Mental Health Services Dr Daniella Malulu, staff members and clients. They were guided to the media hall where they took part in a prayer and worship session conducted by Pastor David Olawole from the Word of His Grace Ministry. After the 30-minute prayer session, the contestants were treated to a small reception and a guided tour of the facilities.

With the help of the centre’s patients, the young girls then demarcated and painted a volleyball court, on which they later together enjoyed a game of volleyball. In the mid-day heat they were laughing, joking and really having fun as they smartly marked out the court.

After lunch, the beauty contestants and the patients enjoyed themselves in recreational activities until late in the afternoon.

“The court was unmarked and it was difficult to judge if the ball was in or out when we played. We are very happy with what they are doing and I wish them good luck,” one patient happily commented.

Meanwhile, tickets for the Miss Seychelles 2016 beauty pageant have gone on sale this week at R700 each and available at the STB head office at Espace building and at the STB Information Office at Independence House.
