School of A-Level Studies principal Lester Omondihas qualified the graduation of 148 students from the school as “cause for celebration”. He has however warned that “the accomplishment comes with responsibilities”.

Mr Omondi was speaking at the school’s graduation ceremony which was held yesterday afternoon in the University of Seychelles (UniSey) auditorium at Anse Royale. Axelle Bodwell came out as the cohort’s best student.

Present at the ceremony were Vice-President Danny Faure, Minister for Education Macsuzy Mondon, principal secretary responsible for Tertiary Education Linda Barallon as well as teachers and the graduates’ parents.

Mr Omondi further remarked that Sals has during the last years evolved from being a traditional post secondary school to a modern educational and holistic centre. As the school is going through an important structural transformation with new facilities, he added that it has also evolved in the way it delivers its courses. As example, he stated that Sals has from this year opened its doors to part time studies, with 10 students enrolling.

Addressing the graduates, he congratulated them for their success. He commented that the cohort has been a special one, because its students have been part of the school’s transformation.

Mr Omondi appreciated that they have done well and come out strong in spite of being on campus when the works were going on. He expressed his confidence in their abilities to as professionals hang on to life and its challenges.
