Magic Circus of Samoa to host free show on Praslin on Monday |12 March 2016

Great news for the people of Praslin and La Digue as the Magic Circus of Samoa will be giving them a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see live circus performances on Côte D'Or and for free.

The Magic Circus of Samoa toured Seychelles for the first time three years ago and it has only performed at the Freedom Square field in the heart of the country’s capital, Victoria. Now for the first time, the circus will move to the island of Praslin for a two-hour show for free.

This announcement was made by the Minister for Tourism and Culture Alain St Ange last Friday after holding talks with the circus’ ringmaster Bruno Loyale.

The show will be held at the Berjaya Praslin Beach hotel, in front of its pizzeria place, at Côte d’Or on Monday March 14, starting at 6pm.

Members of the public will be able to enjoy a free show but can make a donation to the group.

Several sponsors have come on board to make this possible namely Joe Albert and his JFA group of companies, Praslin airport through the Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA), the Praslin Fuel Depot through the Seychelles Petroleum Company (Seypec), Berjaya Praslin Resort, Constance Hotels through the Lemuria Resort, Raffles Resort, Mary Geers through the Village du Pêcheur and Joseph Sinon, among others.

The Magic Circus of Samoa has been in Seychelles since last month where Mr Loyale and his team have been performing at the Freedom Square since February 19 and will be there until March 21.

The show on Praslin will give the people of the other islands the chance to see a circus live and to have a memorable moment with some of the world’s greatest circus performers, such as magicians, jugglers and acrobats.

Sultan Kösen, the world’s tallest man, will also be travelling to the island of Praslin for the show whereby those wishing to have a souvenir photo can do so.

“The Tourism Board and the Ministry of Tourism and Culture felt that we had to join forces to bring the circus to Praslin. As we say thank you to the Magic Circus of Samoa and all the sponsors who have come forward to bring the circus to Praslin for a night of fun with a difference, we appeal to Mr William Rose and everyone else with boats to organise transfers from La Digue so that the Diguois can also enjoy the circus next Monday evening. Joseph Sinon and his group will provide live music from 4pm leading to the circus show at 6pm. This is for every Praslinois and Diguois,” said Minister St Ange.
