Lemuria resort invests in Seychelles youth |12 February 2016

Constance Lemuria Seychelles has made donations to the Grand Anse secondary school on Praslin.

The resort and the school came together for an event to cement their recently made partnership, formed a few weeks ago when students came during holidays as trainees.

Along with the school’s head teacher Michael Antoine, students from the hospitality & management class got the chance to meet representatives of Constance Lemuria. General manager Bruno Le Gac, human resources director Fabian Bornsfield, training manager Kenneth Charagu, events coordinator Hendrick Rachel and health & safety/welfare manager Marianna Duprès were all present to talk to the students.

Head teacher Antoine said: “Although this partnership is rather new, I believe it will be very positive for the school and that together we can achieve a lot in the process.”

He also mentioned that students find the equipment provided to be engaging and attention-grabbing, making them very keen to progress in their class.

In the holidays students are welcomed as trainees at Lemuria, where they are provided with expert skills and knowledge in various fields. Additionally, in April teachers will be trained by managers of Constance Lemuria Seychelles as well as the resort’s staff. The goal is to share with them the essential skills to be taught in hospitality & management classes.

Constance Lemuria Seychelles wanted to improve the class-going experience and give the students an appropriate learning environment, along with the equipment they would find useful for their learning.

The resort donated equipment such as cooker, microwave, blender, glasses, cutlery, books, one bed and bed sheets for training purposes as well as one computer.

The resort’s maintenance team also installed two air-conditioning units in the class.

It can be said that the event was successful in bringing the partnership between Constance Lemuria Seychelles and the school closer. The invitees found the event interesting and informative and towards the end the students showed their gratitude through a speech.
