‘Bones’ releases new album after 30-year break |27 November 2015

Peter 'Bones' Boniface, a well-known Seychellois lawyer and songwriter, has this week released a unique album of 11 songs entitled 'Nouvo Laz Linite'.

Bones however has decided to give away the album for free “as a gift to the Seychellois people, to celebrate the courage, joie de vivre and loving spirit of our beautiful nation". (As quoted from the album cover)

To make sure the album is genuinely free, Bones has financed the entire project himself and has not sought for any sponsorship to cover his expenses.

This is the first time a new album is released for free by an artist, and it also sets a record for the longest time after which a popular artist has made a comeback.

Since Bones' last album was released in 1985, his record now stands at 30 years.

From 1980 to 1985, Bones released five albums of songs that became very popular in Seychelles.

His message has always been one of “Peace and Unity”.

Two years ago, after 25 years in exile, Bones returned home for the first time to publicise his vision of “a New Age of Unity and Prosperity” that he believes will soon begin in Seychelles.

This week, on the eve of next week's presidential election, he has finally released his first comeback album to promote that same message.

In his 11 motivational songs on his latest album, Bones appeals for Unity among the Seychellois people, and in his title track, he makes clear his vision that a "Nouvo Laz Linite pe arive!"
The album is being distributed free throughout this week and it can also be downloaded for free online at: www.soundcloud.com/peterboniface
Bones wishes to express his deepest gratitude to Peter Jules of Seysound Studios who managed to record and produce the whole album in just one week, despite his other music commitments.

He's also very thankful to Jean-Francois Ferrari who organised the printing of the album cover in the same short space of time, despite being overloaded with other work pressures.

“Without the hard work and skills of both Peter Jules and Jean-Francois Ferrari, this release wouldn't have been possible,” Bones remarks.

Bones finally thanks everyone for the warm welcome he's received on his return back home.

He's decided to settle here in the near future to help our nation's progress in the best way he can.

Meanwhile, Bones's son Bruce, who was well-known for performing his own songs on Seychelles radio and television from the age of 3 to 5, is still the only Seychellois to date who's had a single in both the British and US charts.

At the age of 19, he was signed in UK by Sony, and later in US by Virgin – two of the five major record companies in the world.

He has never returned to Seychelles since the age of 5 when Bones went into exile, but he's planning to perform in Seychelles in the near future.
