Philip Toussaint launches new album |29 August 2015

‘Pa pou anpandan’ is Philip Toussaint’s new 13-track album featuring a fusion of sega, reggae and seggae music. Also on the album, the singer’s ninth release, are two tracks that have been re-recorded.

The 13 songs on the album touch on pertinent and meaningful themes relating to socio-economic problems and the reality of life.

“My album reflects the reality of the world today. All the themes that I have explored will reflect on someone that will listen to the album,” Philip says.

The album also features renowned artists Jahrimba, Tania, Champion, Ruben and Philip’s own daughter Tracey, who is 24 years old.

“Every two years I release a new album and each time I do so I manage to satisfy all my devoted fans. Many people were asking when will Philip Toussaint launch a new album on the market,” the singer says.

He added that it took him one year to finalise everything and the album was released this week.

“All 13 songs on the album are so good that people won’t resist to dance just by listening to them,” claims Philip.

The album can be purchased at the usual outlets on Mahé, Kot Dan Entreprise and Kot Baba. On Praslin, fans can get their copies at Ah-Yun at Baie Ste Anne and at Eden at Grand Anse. On La Digue the album can be bought for a reduced price of R125 with Eddy Franchette on 2539750. ‘Pa pou anpandan’ costs R150 in the shops and R125 if you buy it from Philip in person.

He has described the album as an “album full of creativity and originality” and he is hopeful of influencing young artists to be true to themselves and tend to refrain from imitating other artists. And he advises all people to buy original albums and to support local artists.

Philip believes that all 13 songs on the album are so good that no one will skip any track.

Philip wishes to thank the National Arts Council who has sponsored him for the album.
