‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’ |01 August 2015

Children’s talent show promises to be more exciting this year

The children’s talent show ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’ is back and this year’s event promises to be even more exciting than previous ones.

Rehearsals are well underway for the 15 little stars that will shine on August 22 and 23 at the International Conference Centre.

Children were selected after having successfully passed an audition. Well over one hundred children were auditioned and only 15 were selected.

“In order to qualify, the little stars must be aged between 5 and 10 years old, outspoken, have a good voice, and also be enthusiastic and willing to perform in public. As usual in Seychelles we are lucky. There are many talented children who came for audition but unfortunately we need only 15 artists for the show,” said Bennet Accouche, the creator and artistic director of ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’.

The annual children’s talent show was first staged in November 2000 and is still growing strong. Each show is based on a theme with a lavish décor to depict that particular theme.

The show will also feature ‘One Harmony Choir’ and other guests performers including a former Twinkle Twinkle Little Star participant who has now become a household name on the local scene.

“Twinkle Twinkle Little Star is not a competition and each performer is a winner. This experience remains with the participants forever,” added Mr Accouche.

This year’s little stars are Emma Riaze, Ireney Bonne, Kheena Hollanda, Elle Suleman, Elisha Gill, Amelie Brown, Penda Sow, Chiara Florentine, Jadelle Sophola, Kelson Meme, Nael Millison, Eva Lawen, Rhea Rath, Elea Lespoire and Gilber Nourrice.

Every year, we have the opportunity to appreciate some raw talents and this year also Sir Bennet assures us that “the show will be mind blowing”.

Tickets for the show cost R150 apiece and are now on sale at Ray’s Music Room, Victoria. Members of the public are advised to buy their tickets early to avoid disappointment
