Seychelles Commercial Bank donates to Cancer Concern Association |21 April 2015

The Cancer Concern Association has received another financial contribution which will add to its efforts to help people affected by this illness.

This came through a cheque of R25,000 donated by the Seychelles Commercial Bank in a short ceremony at Espace building yesterday in the presence of the bank’s assistant general manager Jenna Thélermont, the chairman of the Cancer Concern Association, Bishop French Chang-Him, and some of the association’s members.

“As promised when we took part in last year’s office choir we were to hand over our prize to the Cancer Concern Association if we were to win. Unfortunately we came out seventh. But we have still kept our promise and the bank has contributed towards this financial help,” said Bernadette Denis, the bank’s human resources and administration manager.

Showing his deep appreciation for the gesture, the bishop said he was very touched in the sense that even if the choir did not win the first prize, it kept its promise and delivered on it.

“I express my sincere thanks to the management of the Seychelles Commercial Bank for this gesture which encourages us to continue with our noble work,” said Bishop Chang-Him.

He said the money will go towards their planned project of having a mobile bus that will go out in districts so that people can easily do their tests and also for the association to get its own building.
