Police communiqué |21 April 2015

 

The police have opened an investigation into a case whereby a man of Corgate Estate was admitted at the Intensive Care Unit at Seychelles Hospital on Friday April 17, 2015 after being hit by car, opposite the Jivan Complex at Mont Fleuri.

According to information received, the man who was crossing the road was hit by the left side mirror of a Daihatsu car driven by a 35-year-old lady of Belvedere. The car was heading south.

The condition of the man, who is suffering from pain in the neck, laceration on his left foot and forehead, has been described as stable.
Breathalyser tests carried out on the lady driver found no trace of alcohol in her blood.

The police have reported that 60-year-old Andrea Roseline was found dead in his bed at his house at Le Niol on Saturday.

Mr Roseline was found in his room not responding by his sister at around 5.37am and was certified dead at the Seychelles Hospital at 7.22am.

According to information received, Mr Roseline, who had a medical history, had been discharged from hospital the Tuesday prior to his death.

At this point no foul play is suspected in Mr Roseline’s death. However, the police are waiting for the post mortem result to determine the exact cause of death.

The police have also opened an investigation after a 33-year-old worker of the China Shenyanj Corporation was on Saturday April 18 admitted to the Doffay Ward at the Seychelles Hospital after being hit by a falling pack of timber at Perseverance.
 
According to a police report, the incident happened while the workers were moving the timber with a forklift and they lost control of the machinery. The timber fell on the man’s belly and his arm.

The construction worker of Indian nationality has sustained bruises on his left arm and has been complaining of stomach pain. His condition has been described as stable.

The incident was reported to the police at 3.56pm that day.
