Bringing the Gospel to every home |27 March 2015

A local branch of the Every Home for Christ has been launched in Seychelles to encourage Christians to be more conscious of their faith.

The Every Home for Christ is a Christian Missions organisation dedicated to reaching every home on earth with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Since 1946, Every Home for Christ has remained on a steady committed course toward this vision. In over 130 nations, it is actively equipping the local church to reach the lost with the Gospel and make disciples. The strategy is simple: Everybody lives somewhere, so just go where people live and systematically share the Gospel home to home.

The Seychelles branch of the Every Home for Christ consists of Anglican Bishop James Wong as chairman and Robert Moumou as vice-chairman. Other members come from the Seychelles Evangelical Alliance and the Anglican Church.

Bishop Wong is hoping that the Roman Catholic Church will join soon.
He said the objective of the Every Home for Christ is to bring Holy Scriptures such as bibles and gospel tracts to each and every home in Seychelles.

“We will be using the religious organisations to distribute our documents especially Christian denominations which are already set up in districts,” he said.

Training will start in May to empower the people of the Church such as ministers, pastors, as well as faithful believers who have not been ordained,
who want to use this tool.

Bishop Wong said the Every Home for Christ has been set up to encourage the Christians to be more conscious of their faith. It is also a tool to be used to help the Christians reconnect with their Creator, especially those who are not practicing their faith, to hear the words of God in their home.

“Before the people had to go to church to hear the words of God but now we will bring it to the people’s homes,” he said.
He also said that the importance of the Every Home for Christ coming to Seychelles is to provide to the church with resources to help devise a strategy to go to the grass root level.
