Soroptimist donates to orphanages |31 January 2015

The Soroptimist International Club of Seychelles has made a donation of school uniforms and stationery to the Foyer Saint Elizabeth and the Foyer de Nazareth.

The total cost of the donation amounts to R20,000.

The aim of Soroptimist International Club of Seychelles, an organisation only for women, is to help the women and children of Seychelles in the domain of education and health and in empowering women.

The club works mainly with orphanages and also the hospital, helping hugely cancer patients. It raises its funds from lotteries, one of which has already been launched.

“We would like to ask everyone to please buy a ticket so that we can get enough funds to continue our work to help women and children,” the club’s president Cecile Hodoul said.

The Soroptimist club has been in action for 20 years now.
“I am very satisfied and proud that other organisations, in addition to the staff of the orphanages around Seychelles, are ready to help the poor and unhealthy children and women of Seychelles,” stated Sister Aimer from the St Elizabeth orphanage.

According to Sister Aimer, the Soroptimist International Club of Seychelles always donates much needed school material, usually before the start of school terms.
