Private sector welcomes new Cabinet of Ministers |30 January 2015

The Seychelles Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has welcomed the re-structuring of the government’s administration and reiterated its commitment to working together for the betterment of Seychelles’ economic growth.

“The road to success is not lined and padded. Rather it is arduous and steep. However it is a journey which is achieved when unity and common sense of purpose prevail. It is within this concept that we at the SCCI welcome the changes in government and pledge our continued support to working for the common good,” SCCI chairman Marco Francis said.

“Over the past couple of years we have embarked on a series of honest, open debate to sort out the issues which affect growth and development in our country.

We are encouraged to note that trade, investment and entrepreneurship have been put together under the umbrella of one ministry. This indicates that the authorities are willing to give these sectors the attention they deserve. It is our sincere hope that through this new framework, we can jointly propel the creation of employment, the generation of wealth and the consolidation of our standard of living to the next level,” he said.

SCCI has thanked the two outgoing ministers for the cooperation which they extended to the chamber during their tenure and is hopeful that the spirit of open dialogue and consultation will be maintained by the new Cabinet.
