Tag Heuer’s luxury watches come to Seychelles |23 December 2014

Tag Heuer is now available in Seychelles at JOUEL! A cocktail and short launching ceremony was held at the company’s premises at Eden Plaza last Thursday so people could discover Tag Heuer’s avant-garde timepieces.

Tag Heuer is the pioneering Swiss watchmaker since 1860, the world leader in prestigious and high precision chronographs. It crafts contemporary timepieces resulting from a combination of technology and design. Tag Heuer watches are crafted for intense life.

“It’s a big day for us, for our company JOUEL. We are very proud to launch Tag Heuer in Seychelles, first official luxury watch agency in the country. It’s been a long process, we have been in negotiations and discussions with Tag for about eighteen months. They had some concerns in the beginning about the viability and feasibility of the watch market in Seychelles. Hopefully we can prove them wrong,” said Rod Thorrington, managing director of JOUEL in a short address to the guests present.

He added that before the launch they had to get their pro-sale customer service. To that effect his company managed to tie up with Tag Heuer office in Mauritius to look after their warranty and servicing among others.

Describing the characteristics and performance of Tag Heuer, Mr Thorrington said it’s a luxury brand which he felt is relevant.
It is also a contemporary brand which has put loads of money into marketing for example in persons like Cristiano Ronaldo and other famous figures mainly in sports. He said it’s a brand that people recognise.

“It’s the first Tag Heuer shop in Seychelles distributed by JOUEL. The next step is to obviously have multiple Tags at stores. And the long-term plan is to bring in other luxury watch brands to Seychelles. We see it as the start of things to come,” said Mr Thorrington.

Mr Thorrington invited everyone who appreciate good quality watches to have a Tag Heuer. JOUEL is planning a marketing campaign but right now it wants the people to know that Tag watches are available. Automatically as a resident you get a 15 per cent discount. For the December month in the period of Christmas it’s an additional 10 percent, bringing it to 25%.

During the launch ceremony a raffle was held where a Tag Heuer Formula 1 man’s watch was on offer. It was valued at £1000. The watch was won by Marco Francis.
