The first batch of students who recently completed phase 1 of their training at the Colombo International Nautical and Engineering College (Cinec) in Sri Lanka are set to join the Seychelles Petroleum Company’s (Seypec) deep-sea tanker fleet.

The move to join the deep-sea tankers will mark the beginning of a nine-month period whereby their first sea phase will be served, prior to returning to Cinec to complete their next phase of training.

Three students -- Denis Belle, Luigi Germain and Stephane Larue left Seychelles this week to join MT Seychelles Pride in Rotterdam, Holland. Three others --  students Nick Joubert, Arnold Victor and Marie-Helene Rose – leave on Monday to join MT Seychelles Prelude in Tarragona, Spain while the remaining students will be leaving over the coming weeks.

All in all 18 students will be making the move to the deep-sea tanker fleet. Two students have already joined MT Seychelles Paradise and they will be joining the deep-sea fleet once berths are available upon the signing off of foreign crew.
