Young green turtles set free |15 September 2014

Guests at the Constance Lemuria Resort on Praslin watched as the hotel’s turtle manager Robert Matombe and landscaping manager Adrian Allison carefully released more than 100 small green turtles on Saturday September 7, 2014.

Messrs Matombe and Allison helped rescue some 135 green turtle eggs at Anse Kerlan beach on Praslin last July.  And for the past two months, fostering and taking care of the newly hatched green turtles became part of their daily routine.  

Then on Saturday September 7, 2014 it was freedom day for the baby turtles. Messrs Matombe and Allison watched them rush to the sea during the first Praslin Culinary & Arts Fiesta.

The young turtles were so full of energy that within five minutes they have all disappeared into the sea.
