Seychelles Sea Turtle Festival in pictures |18 August 2014

The Seychelles Sea Turtle Festival was celebrated again this year with a family fun day at Beau Vallon beach on August 9.  The festival aims to raise awareness of the need to protect sea turtles and also to celebrate this amazing marine animal.

It was a great success with many local organisations and businesses participating, not only showing their work in turtle conservation but also providing numerous activities for the public to take part in.  The activities included face painting, turtle sandcastle competition, turtle themed arts and crafts, turtle games, a turtle kite competition and many more.

It is hoped that this festival will serve to keep sea turtle conservation on the agenda and at the forefront of people’s minds so that these endangered animals will receive the protection they deserve.
