Young local swimming starlet Felicity Passon has smashed three national records at the South Africa National Aquatic Championships held in Durban, South Africa.
The competition took place between April 7 and April 12 and Passon competed as part of her training camp in South Africa.
Her first record was set during the preliminary round of the 50m butterfly event where she finished in 14th place with a time of 29.19 seconds, erasing her own previous national record which stood at 29.86 seconds.
She failed to qualify for the final however as she could only manage a 16th place finish in the semifinal with slower time of 29.29 seconds.
In the 100m butterfly event, Passon again managed to finish 14th in the preliminaries, again with a new national record of 1 minute 05.67 seconds (1:05.67) to improve the previous record of 1:05.94 held by herself. She was not done however, as despite finishing 16th in the semifinal of the same event she improved her record set earlier by clocking 1:05.57.
In the 50m freestyle, she managed to set her third new record despite failing to get past the preliminary round after finishing 22th. With a time of 28.11 seconds he erased the previous record of 28.39 seconds held by Aurelie Fanchette.
